The Wyoming County Chamber of Commerce will present a Think About Energy Briefing on Wednesday, March 18, from 8:30 to 10 a.m. at the Stonehedge Golf Course in Tunkhannock.

The event will feature U.S. Representative Fred Keller (PA-12) and U.S. Representative Dan Meuser (PA-09). Other speakers include George Stark, Director of External Affairs of Cabot Oil & Gas Corporation and David Taylor, President and CEO of the Pennsylvania Manufacturers’ Association.

Topics will include the abundance of natural gas in the Appalachian Basin; workforce and business development opportunities; transportation of natural gas and natural gas liquids; downstream plastics development; political implications of America’s natural gas revolution, and much more. Complimentary breakfast will be served.

The event is presented by the Wyoming County Chamber of Commerce in partnership with the Greater Pittston Chamber of Commerce, Back Mountain Chamber, Central Bradford County Chamber of Commerce, Greater Wyalusing Chamber of Commerce, Montrose Area Chamber of Commerce and the Greater Wilkes-Barre Chamber of Commerce.

    Fred Keller is currently serving his first term in Congress, after being elected in a special election to fill the unexpired term of Congressman Tom Marino. Prior to Congress, Fred served five terms in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, where he developed a proven record of working hard to grow Pennsylvania’s economy and attract jobs, standing up for taxpayers, promoting agriculture, and tirelessly supporting local families and businesses.

    During his 25-year career at Conestoga Wood Specialties, Fred rose to serve as Plant Operations Manager at the company’s Beavertown facility, managing over 230 employees and a $50 million-dollar annual budget. While building his career at Conestoga, Fred started his own successful small business managing properties and serving as a general contractor.

    In Harrisburg, Fred consistently worked to pass timely and balanced budgets with no tax increases or general fund borrowing. As a firm believer in government that is open and accountable, Fred has built a record that is rooted in the values of his constituents.

    Prior to voting for increased transparency in State Government that required state agencies to post expenses online, Fred set the example by posting his personal and office expenses online.

    Fred is a Life Member of the National Rifle Association. He has been a member of the First Reformed Church in Sunbury for over thirty years and served as a Deacon in the church.

    Fred currently serves on the House Committee on Education and Labor and the House Oversight and Reform Committee.

    Fred has been married to his wife Kay for 34 years. They have two adult children, Jamie and Freddie, and two granddaughters. Fred coached his children in youth sports and was a local Cub Scout Den leader.

    Dan Meuser is a conservative business leader who brings his experience as a proven job creator, dedicated public servant, and proactive member of his community to Congress.

    Dan grew up in a middle-class family, his father was a police officer and his mother returned to work once Dan and his siblings began school. Dan attended the New York Maritime University and studied economics at Cornell University on a Navy ROTC scholarship.

    Dan joined Pride Mobility Products in 1988, a small healthcare products manufacturer that he helped grow into an industry leader in power mobility over two decades. While at Pride, Dan helped create thousands of quality jobs and the company was named one of the best places to work in Pennsylvania. Pride Mobility employs hundreds of Pennsylvanians, and its products improve the quality of life for people around the world. Dan served as President of Pride USA for seven years.

    In 2011, Governor-elect Tom Corbett nominated Dan to serve as Pennsylvania’s Secretary of Revenue. There, he worked to reform the Department of Revenue, making it more efficient and focused on helping taxpayers. His experience in business helped him bring the Department into the 21st Century with innovative technological advances and procedural improvements.

    Dan’s leadership of the Department was recognized by the Council on State Taxation for the most dramatic improvement of any department of revenue in the country, going from a D rating to an A- during his tenure.

    In 2019, Dan Meuser was sworn in as a member of the 116th Congress representing Pennsylvania’s 9th Congressional District. Today, Dan is putting his experience and conservative values to work to make our economy stronger and our nation safer. He’s accessible and active in our community. Dan is a problem solver and he never forgets that he works for the hardworking families of Pennsylvania’s 9th District.

    In the 116th Congress, Congressman Meuser serves on the House Budget, Veterans’ Affairs, and Education & Labor Committees.

    Dan and his wife of 29 years, Shelley, have two daughters and a son, and live in Luzerne County, PA.

  • George Stark

    George Stark is the Director of External Affairs for Cabot Oil & Gas Corporation. In this role, George directs external and internal outreach including government affairs, advertising, media relations, corporate social responsibility, and
    communications campaigns. He also oversees efforts in building community relationships and furthering workforce development and natural gas utilization within the industry.

    In addition to his roles on several oil and natural gas industry organizations, George currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Pittsburgh Airport Area Chamber of Commerce and the Community Foundation of the Endless Mountains.

    He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Dickinson College and is a graduate of Leadership Pittsburgh. Prior to Cabot, George worked at Columbia Gas of Pennsylvania/Maryland for 15 years and most recently held the position of Director of External Affairs during his tenure. He lives in Wheeling, West Virginia with his wife and three daughters.

    David N. Taylor is President & CEO of the Pennsylvania Manufacturers’ Association, the statewide trade organization representing the manufacturing sector in Pennsylvania’s public policy process. Now in his 21st year with PMA, Taylor is the association’s chief spokesman at the state Capitol in Harrisburg and in the media. He is editor of the PMA Bulletin and host of the statewide television program “PMA Perspective” on the Pennsylvania Cable Network.

    A frequently-sought guest and commentator, David is regularly quoted by media outlets across the commonwealth and around the world, having been interviewed on television by NHK (Japan), ARD (Germany), and CBC News (Canada), as well as over the airwaves by BBC Radio 4 (UK) and CBC Radio Canada. He is also the host of “Capitol Watch”, a twice-monthly news and commentary program on “Lincoln Radio Journal”, which is heard on more than 90 radio stations across Pennsylvania.

    David is a board member of the Pennsylvania Manufacturers’ Association, the Pennsylvania Steel Alliance, the Foundation for Free Enterprise Education, the Business-Industry Political Action Committee (BIPAC), the Pennsylvania Leadership Council, and the Lincoln Institute for Public Opinion Research. David was a member of Governor Tom Corbett’s Manufacturing Advisory Council. He is school board president of Reach Cyber Charter School, an online public school providing a broad range of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) enrichment for students.

    Prior to joining PMA, David worked in the United States Senate and the Senate of Pennsylvania.

    A native of Huntingdon PA, David is a graduate of Dickinson College, where he majored in History and Dramatic Arts. He is a member of the Huntingdon Presbyterian Church and Central Pennsylvania MENSA. He lives near Hershey PA with his wife and daughter.
