How Americans Use Natural Gas Supplies

The United States used about 31 trillion cubic feet (Tcf) of natural gas in 2019, the equivalent of 32 quadrillion British thermal units (Btu) and 32% of U.S. total primary energy consumption. Natural gas is used throughout America, but Texas, California, Louisiana, Florida, and Pennsylvania are the top states for natural gas consumption.
